RELATIONS

On the day dedicated to relations we will analyse and challenge daily fortresses in interpersonal, intercultural, and interspecies relations. After a world café session where we will share terms and concepts that will be used in the parallel sessions, we will start from experiential practices before addressing the different topics with the invited guests.

WORKSHOP 1 INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS

Morning
Home Body – A Collective Dance Workshop

This workshop aims to motivate participants to explore body awareness as well as their relationship with the space/territory they share with one another, both within and outside their own bodies. Through different movement techniques and exercises, we will try to create an ensemble, a harmony by listening to each other and our surroundings and trying to establish different dialogues with both ourselves and our surroundings while doing this pleasant creative research.

Human relations: deconstruction, listening, and reflection

Poliredis was born in 2023 to look at comparing and collectively reflecting on relational orientations and communication styles, focusing on dissident relationships and beyond. At social camp 2024 proposes an experiential workshop with a relational focus, based on theatral mindfulness exercises aiming at body, emotional and mental consciousness in a creative and collaborative context.

WORKSHOP 2 INTERCULTURAL RELATIONS

Morning
Frontier roles

“We think of resistance as creation and of conflict in its difference from clash: asymmetries push people to create and only in the absence of ultimate solutions they are forced to invent local solutions every time” (A. Benasayag).

The activity is a dynamic simulation which brazenly touches upon the paradoxes of reception, the roles, the stereotypes and the active objectives which act and act on us. A moment of participatory reflection will follow, inviting participants to think about their imposed or enacted roles in the material or immaterial frontiers that we cross everyday.

Afternoon
Networks of active solidarity

The workshop originates from the desire to create a dialogue and an encounter between the associations involved (NEW RESEARCH AGENCY RES/Free diffuse popular and transcultural school at Lido Tre Archi and Mediterranean Hope - Federation of the Evangelic Churches in Italy), rooted in geographically distant territories (between Marche and Lampedusa) but at the same time connected by experiences and interests around migrations and the social policies of reception. The aim is to draw new networks of active solidarity and to adopt new practices that can constitute the basis for developing and implementing shared projects and future collaborations..

WORKSHOP 3 INTERSPECIES RELATIONS

Morning
Ecology, the rebellion of the environment

The Academy of Democratic Modernity builds on the three pillars of radical democracy, women’s liberation, and ecology to respond to the multiple crises of the present. At the 2024 Social Camp, it proposes to present a short text on ecology from Abdullah Ocalan about the critiques to positivist science and the need to rebuild an ecological thinking to react to the attacks of Capitalist Modernity. The workshop includes a performative part to enact in a natural environment.

Afternoon
Re-habitat

After a theoretical introduction to the reforestation activity that they pursue as a practice for reappropriating, caring for and regenerating spaces, Driade will give us hands-on experience through installing seeds dispenser for the birds to spread, producing seed bombs (spheres made out of clay and seeds) and recognising “habitat” trees, namely those with potential for hosting animals, insects and biodiversity
